Decarbonising Manufacturers

Too Much Data, Not Enough Insight
Managing energy data is complex. Without clear insights, it’s hard to find savings or track progress
Limited Real-Time Monitoring
Outdated data makes it difficult to spot inefficiencies and measure decarbonisation impact effectively
Energy Wasted in Outdated Systems
Old systems lead to unnecessary energy use and higher costs, slowing progress toward sustainability

Issue
CardiEnergy were tasked with analysing datasets from the sites top Significant Energy Users including CHPs, Air Compressors, Chillers and Heat Pumps with a view to demonstrate the capability of our software & supporting services by identifying areas of opportunity for decarbonisation & energy savings measures.
Action
1. CHP (Combined Heat & Power): Identified optimisation scenarios including heat demand matching, equating to annualised savings values of €137k - 1850 MWh - 368 tCo2 2. Air Compressors: Adjusted & resized the system to the optimum settings based on a deep understanding of the requirements through a process of forecasted scenarios delivering a reduction of 20 MWh. 3. Heat Pumps & Chillers: Identified low COP due to operational change & excessing out of hours operating, resulting in inefficient operation for a period of 6 months equating to €18k - 70 Mh - 32 tCo2
Conclusion
The medical technology company recouped their initial investment immediately with the identification of the above savings. CardiEnergy continues to work with this valued client to deliver on their carbon reduction targets.
